Brake pad install?

Recommendations? The Tire Choice said they will only do direct OEM replacements or major pads they can source locally...they said the only aftermarket possibility might be something like EBC. Still debating though on StopTech PosiQuiet, Hawk HPS, etc.

Depends what I get I guess

Also what's this mean?

Please note you MUST bed these pads as you've been running ceramics for a while

It's a break in procedure. Basically you have to get a coating of the new brake pad material on your rotors. This is achieved by doing a little drive after install and gradually, starting with very little, making the brakes exert more and more force. You want to gradually heat the pads up until a thin film is created on the surface of the rotor. Not difficult to do nor is it very easy to mess up.

The shop that installs them will do that lol they aren't going to give you a car back after they just bled the brakes without driving it.

I heard that hawk hps squeak. My old roommate had performance pads on his vette and it always sounded like his pads were on the way out.

Why use a shop? I change out a set of pads in under a half hour. Im using Hawks right now and I am very happy so far. EBC are garbage from what I hear.

I would just do OEM replacements, you should be perfectly fine with those.

The reason I didn't go Hawk was because everyone else with a 350z that had them said they squealed at low speeds...and being that my car was more for show I couldn't be driving around with a car that sounds broken. haha

@ Shawn C...I don't know where you "hear" from but EBC are great. Vast improvement from stock performance wise AND they don't make your car sound broken.

Zach, I know you aren't much for performance anymore so I would just go to a shop and have them put a low dust ceramic pad on. You will be far less likely to have any problems and far more likely to get the results I believe you are looking for.
